Dr. Nariman Saadat

Board-Certified Oral Surgeon

Dr. Nariman Saadat is a highly skilled and board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and general surgery internship at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). Dr. Saadat also earned his medical degree from OHSU School of Medicine in June 2014. Additionally, he completed adult and pediatric anesthesia training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry, where he also earned his DDS degree in June 2011. Prior to his education at UCLA, Dr. Saadat earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles Extension, and attended Santa Monica College.

Dr. Saadat has earned several certifications during his career, including American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Advance Trauma Life Support, and Basic Life Support.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Saadat has been recognized for his hard work and dedication. He received the Van Zile Scholarship from 2012 to 2014, the OHSU Sam Jackson Scholarship in 2013, and the OHSU Dr. Mary Jane Stamm Scholarship in 2013. In 2011, he was awarded the UCLA School of Dentistry Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Honor Award. He also received the Regents Scholarship from the UCLA School of Dentistry from 2007 to 2011, the California Dental Association Scholarship in 2010, and the California Dental Association third place in scientific poster presentation in 2010. Dr. Saadat was also the recipient of the UCLA School of Dentistry Dean’s Scholarship in 2007 and the UCLA Interfraternity Council Scholarship in 2006.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Saadat has also contributed to the community through his volunteer work. He has served as a Cedars Sinai Medical Center Head and Neck Team Volunteer since 2018 and volunteered as an OHSU Head & Neck Cancer Screening Volunteer in 2016. Dr. Saadat has also been a teaching assistant for the Alpha Omega and ASDA organizations, as well as for the UCLA pre-dental course.

Dr. Saadat has been involved in several research projects throughout his career, with a focus on oral and maxillofacial surgery. His recent projects include Virtual Surgical Planning for Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw, Surgical planning and Patient-Specific Reconstruction Plates for Scapula Free Flap Reconstruction of the Mandible, and Virtual surgical planning for intraoral inverted L osteotomy in management of severe obstructive sleep apnea. He has also contributed to research projects in other fields, such as Investigation and clinical implications of transport and regulation of sodium channel Na v1.8 mRNA in nerve entrapment injuries and Investigation and clinical outcome of use bone graft substitutes on nasal floor augmentation.

Dr. Saadat’s surgical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, full mouth reconstruction, and comprehensive management of oral cavity cancer. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys kiteboarding, tennis, snowboarding, playing the classic guitar, computer programming, reading, and socializing. Dr. Saadat’s diverse range of interests and experiences has given him a unique perspective in his field, and he is committed to providing the highest level of care to his patients.
